66.1 best hits: Quarter 4 2024
Issue #90: Best hits issue #1 Read Time: 4 minutes Good morning, 66.1ers. We’re going to try something new this week. Now that you’re settled back into your routine after the busy holiday season, I think now's a great time to recap the top issues from the last three months. In November 2024 we pivoted to writing a twice-weekly newsletter, with Saturday issues dedicated to science-informed analyses of popular topics related to human health and longevity. Rather than send out yet another information-dense piece this week, we’re going to revisit the top 5 issues from quarter 4 of 2024. I plan to continue with this approach at the end of each quarter. Respond here and tell me what’s up. One of the best antidotes to the S word is eating sufficient protein. Don't let a sore back steal your freedomhttps://66point1.com/posts/back-pain-why-it-happens-and-what-to-do-about-it Why it made the list: One of the more common challenges associated (rightly or otherwise) with aging is back pain. As Joseph Pilates said, “You are as young as your spine is flexible.” A critical take on walkinghttps://66point1.com/posts/walking-overrated-or-the-next-best-thing Why it made the list: As a health coach focused on helping people live pain-free and move well for decades to come, I see many folks who overlook important aspects of training in addition to walking. And one more, in case you missed it: HousekeepingA quick favor: If you find today’s newsletter valuable, could you please share it with one person you think might enjoy it? This would make all the difference to us as we build this newsletter and help people live healthier, for longer. An announcement: As mentioned back in December, the Saturday editions of 66.1 will go behind a paywall later this month. We are making this change so we can continue to deliver the highest-quality newsletter possible and continue to expand our offerings to help you build your health for the long term. If you anticipate difficulty affording the $6.61 monthly subscription fee, please reply here. We'll work something out. A quick refresher for anyone who's new to the newsletter: 66.1 is the average health span (years lived without a serious disease) in the US. We're here to extend that. Have fun out there.
